Darshan Hiranandani, MD & CEO
The mix use of fuel as a source of energy has evolved over time. We have seen clear transition and growing awareness towards the usage of clean and green energy and support from the Government via prudent policies to make natural gas preferred fuel. Going ahead with the momentum, H-Energy is progressing at a fast pace on its vision to provide environment friendly source of energy to the nation. H-Energy remains committed to evolving the benefits of natural gas from being not just environmentally friendly but customer friendly in terms of safety, price, reliability and flexibility. All this is only achievable through a focus on all parts of the supply chain – infrastructure, molecule, policy and regulation.
We are proud that H-Energy docked India’s first FSRU in May 2018 in Jaigarh, Maharashtra. Achieving this demanding project has only been possible through fantastic teamwork. We have managed to execute this project in 17 months and all this has been possible due to the support we got from all our stakeholders.
For H-Energy, the project is not just about managing operations of terminal, but delivering quality services to end consumer. We firmly believe that clean energy infrastructure development is an immediate requirement of the country and at H-Energy we are willing to make long term commitments to take the path of sustainable development. We intend to create long term partnerships with gas consumers and LNG suppliers to create a win-win model for the sector. We further intend to build LNG retail infrastructure to transport fuel from one city to another.
With the valued support and continuous trust of all our stakeholders, we are set to flag-off our commercial operations in 2019. To meet the challenges ahead and fulfil all our stakeholders’ expectations, we have structured the company’s strategic initiatives which will embrace sustainable business practices, focus on enhancing customer experience, increase operational efficiency and will focus on people’s development.
We are committed on our mission of creating vital infrastructure to expand the usage of green energy.
H-Energy Private Ltd. was established in the year 2009 with a vision to contribute to the economic growth of the country by offering world-class, environmentally safe and sustainable energy solutions.
H-Energy is currently developing LNG re-gasification terminals and cross-country pipelines on the west and east coast of India. H-Energy through its marketing arm is also offering end-to-end natural gas solutions including LNG sourcing, re-gasification facilities, downstream deliveries based on customer preference.
H-Energy’s pioneering regasification infrastructure projects will ensure a regular and sustainable supply of clean, environment-friendly natural gas fuel at strategic locations on the east and west coast of India. The business model adopted for both of the projects will have a fine balance of merchant and tolling models, and customers who opt for the tolling model will be required to book regasification capacity in the project.
Our Vision and Strategy
‘To be the force that drives India's economic growth by offering world-class, environmentally safe, socially responsible and sustainable solutions that will enrich the lives of the Indian people.’
Strengths that set us apart
H-Energy is setting up an LNG re-gasification project at Jaigarh port in the State of Maharashtra. The project will be implemented in 2 phases. Phase – I will consist of a jetty based FSRU of approx. 4 mmtpa capacity, which is expected to start in the third quarter of 2018. Phase-II will consist of a land based regasification terminal with an ultimate capacity of 8 mmtpa.
H-Energy has also made considerable project in setting up an offshore FSRU based LNG re-gasification facility located in the offshore Digha region of West Bengal on the east coast of India. This project was awarded to H-Energy in August 2015 through a bidding process followed by the Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT). The FSRU will have a regasification capacity of ~ 3 MMTPA and is scheduled for commissioning by June 2019.
In March 2015 H-Energy had proposed two natural gas pipelines on the West Coast and East Coast of India by submitting Expressions of Interest to the Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB). After following the due process, the PNGRB invited bids for both of these pipeline projects in March 2016 and the projects are expected to be awarded to the successful bidders by May 2016.
Through H-Energy’s planned LNG Re-gasification terminals on the east and west coast of India, the Company intends to deliver a host of reliable marketing services in the entire LNG value chain, and provide cost-effective and technically viable long-term solutions through short-term/long-term contracts related to LNG Sourcing, Tolling Agreements, Aggregation Services and R-LNG supply, to downstream customers etc. Initially, the Company will cater to the states of Karnataka, Maharastra, Gujarat and North India through the West Coast Project and pipeline linkages. Similarly for the East Coast Project, the target states will be West Bengal and Odisha, with future plans to extend to other adjacent states. H-Energy is also actively pursuing opportunities in inter-regional gas trade.
